Antique Select Tobacco Barn Oak Flooring

Select grade is our name for the smooth-surfaced version of our antique tobacco barn oak. The character is still fully present: knots, nail holes, mineral staining, color variation, and the natural irregularities that come from a century or more of barn life. The smooth surface simply allows those details to read more clearly without adding heavy texture on top of them.
The material is a natural mix of antique red and white oak salvaged from tobacco barns throughout the Midwest. While the grain patterns are similar, the species differ subtly in tone. Red oak tends to run warmer and richer, while white oak reads slightly cooler and more neutral. Installed together, the mix creates natural variation and movement across the floor without feeling overly busy or artificial. Compared to rough-faced or hit-and-skip material, Select Grade has a more refined and versatile appearance while still retaining the authenticity of reclaimed wood. It works equally well in traditional spaces, modern interiors, and quieter architectural settings where texture is desired but a smoother surface underfoot is preferred.
