Antique tobacco barns are among the most character-rich sources of reclaimed oak in America. Old growth boards with a century or more of history pressed into every grain. Our hit-and-skip process reveals history without burying it.
Rather than surfacing the boards to a smooth finish or leaving them fully rough, we selectively skip-plane the surface. The result is a floor that moves between worn texture and clean wood, aged where the planer passed over the high points and open-grained where it did not. No two boards are alike, and the variation reads as intentional rather than imperfect. Available as solid or engineered, unfinished or prefinished. This is one of our most versatile reclaimed options and one of the most visually expressive. |
