FLOORING / TRADITIONALLY MILLED / EUROPEAN CUT WHITE OAK
European Cut White Oak Flooring
European cut refers to the method of milling the full width of a white oak log in sequence, producing planks that capture the complete range of grain the tree has to offer. Flat grain, rift grain, and quartered figure can all appear within the same board or across adjacent planks, along with spike knots, mineral staining, and natural color variation, making each installation unique.
The result is a floor with more movement, variation, and character than conventionally sawn material. We offer this flooring in wide plank dimensions up to 12 inches, allowing the natural figure and scale of the wood to read more clearly across the floor. Available as solid or engineered, unfinished or prefinished. FSC certification is available upon request. All finishes are Zero VOC. Engineered construction uses CARB Phase 2-compliant plywood throughout. The gallery below shows this flooring in a range of finishes, including Bona Extra Matte, Rubio Monocoat Pure, and unfinished wood, offering a sense of how differently the material reads depending on finish, lighting, and surrounding materials. |
