The Artisan Plank Collection is the most refined of our three French oak collections, with a lighter level of distressing that allows the wood's natural character to take the lead. Each board is aged and finished with chipped edges that simulate the kind of wear traditional floors accumulate over decades of normal use, without the heavy texture of wire brushing or the pronounced undulation of our more rustic surfaces.
What gives Artisan Plank its character is the color. Shade variation from plank to plank, tonal accents within the grain, and natural darkening around the knots create a floor with depth and variation that feels genuinely aged rather than artificially treated. Finished with reactive stains and natural oil finishes that work with the oak’s own tannins, the result is warm, nuanced, and quietly distinctive. It works especially well in refined contemporary interiors, transitional spaces, and anywhere authentic character is desired without a heavily rustic or textured surface.
