The Vintage Plank Collection is built around a single defining process: heavy wire brushing that opens the grain, raises the natural veins of the oak, and creates an undulated surface with deeper marks and softly rounded edges. The result is a floor that carries the texture and presence of wood that has stood for generations, produced from new FSC-certified French oak imported directly from Europe.
The wire brushing accentuates what live-sawn French oak already does naturally, revealing medullary rays, cathedral grain, and linear figure across the face of each plank. The veins of oak, a dense and exceptionally hard wood, emerge as a tactile pattern that shifts with light and viewing angle. Finished with reactive stains and natural oil finishes that work with the wood’s own tannins, the color feels complex and dimensional rather than applied or uniform. Of our three French oak collections, Vintage Plank has the most pronounced surface texture and deepest sense of age. It works especially well in spaces where warmth, tactility, and a feeling of history are central to the design.
