PROJECTS / SIERRA CLUB
Sierra Club in San Francisco, CAReclaimed Douglas fir beams from Black’s Farmwood were used to create the reception desk at the Sierra Club Headquarters in San Francisco. The organization’s long-standing commitment to conservation and responsible stewardship aligns closely with the values behind reclaimed wood, making this a particularly meaningful installation. The project utilized 12x12 resawn old-growth Douglas fir beams salvaged from a coastal industrial warehouse in California. The beams were custom-milled, including band-sawing on four faces and precise cutting to length, while retaining the character of the original material. The result is a reception desk that expresses both environmental responsibility and the natural beauty of reclaimed wood.
